Entries are now closed for the 2010 Hillside Film Festival, and – after receiving a truckload of fantastic films from across Victoria – we can now proudly announce the eight films which will screen in this year’s festival, and be in the running for a stack of cash and awards. They are:
‘4 Minutes of Fame’, directed by Emily Owens
‘Chimps Aren’t Chumps’, directed by Sari Braithwaite
‘Choke’, directed by Sophia Sourris
‘Eskimo Kiss’, directed by Dustin Feneley
‘Interview Artist: Part Two’, directed by Sam Petersen
‘The Last Mile’, directed by Shannon George
‘The Laundromat’, directed by Timothy Meville
‘Negatives’, directed by Philip Houghton
The 2010 Hillside Film Festival will take place on February 19th and 20th 2010, in the stunning surrounds of the Cameo Outdoor Cinema in Belgrave, in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. The festival will feature two nights of great food, music, and – of course – a celebration of youth and film culture. The selected films will also feature on the small screen, presented on Foxtel’s Aurora Community Channel as part of Youth Week 2010.
Thank you to all of those who entered; as always, selecting just a handful of films was a very difficult process, and we are left with no doubt as to the healthy state of the Victorian film industry.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more details about the festival, where these eight filmmakers will get to battle it out on the big screen.
